Just recently the Maple Leaf Gardens, the former home of the
Toronto Maple Leafs hockey team was reopened as a supermarket. A couple weekends ago we met some friends
there for dinner. While the sushi we
bought was nothing to write home about, it was great to see this landmark
building rebuilt into something cool.
Interestingly much of the decor pays tribute to the
building's history, including this maple leaf symbol made out of plastic lawn
chairs. The tables where we ate are
covered in Maple Leaf hockey glory of days gone by, and also special events
that were hosted there, including that of the renown American preacher, Billy
Graham.
